I Can't Receive Faxes From A Specific Number. What Does 'manual Call' Mean?

I can't receive faxes from a specific number. Everytime that number faxes, the transmission log shows "manual call" in the notes area but no pages are received. Also, they all have the same duration. After ringing a few times, the call/line is dropped with the error message "code 07" where the "subscriber has disconnected". Is this because of the fax settings or is there anything I can change so that I can receive faxes from that number?

If that's the only number you can't receive faxes from, then there is some communication issue between the two machines. You can try slowing your machine down (slowing down the initial communication speed) as well as turning off error correction and advanced protocols such as V.8 or JBIG. If the other machine is a very old fax machine, it may have problems dealing with your newer machine and its newer protocols, so by simplifying it, they may be able to communicate better.
