Motor Only Runs For 1-2 Seconds When Start Button Pressed ?

After switching on the treadmill everything looks ok. I can change the incline and select speed and program. But when i press START it only runs for 1-2 seconds and then stops. There is a single beep.    Any ideas what is wrong, and how to fix it   thanks
