Cd Plays In Very Staccato, Irregular Fashion.
My Philips FW-C70c 3701 Mini Hi-Fi plays CDs erratically. The music is staccato, stops, speeds up, all irregularly. When cutting out there is nothing showing on the equalizier screen. Speakers are OK. FM radio plays fine. CDs play fine on a different CD player. I unplugged it for 10 minutes and then turned it back on with no change. Problem started abruptly. My manual mentions cleaning the CD lens, but Philips customer service can't help; they don't have a manual that old & I don't know where the CD lens is or how to get to it.
