Dvp 3602/f8 Will Not Play My Dvd's

I spend my winters in Mexico and in March 2013 I purchased the above Philips player. I have just returned to Progreso Mexico with several of my Canadian DVD's. When I attempt to load them, I get a message 'wrong region'. Is there any way to correct this? All of the DVD's that I have have been purchased through retail outlets in Canada, most of them from Amazon.

Your DVD player is most likely Region 4 which means it will only play DVDs from Mexico, Central America, South America, Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania. You will need a Region 1 DVD player to play DVDs from North America.
