Lens Won't Stay Open

when i turn camera on the lens opens for a second then closes immediately...battery is fully charged and inserted correctly..any ideas?

Hi, I had the same problem with mine. I stumbled across what seems to be the solution when as the lens was opening and closing, I pressed the menu button. Hey presto! I hope it works for you too.
