Im Having Trouble Downloading My Pic From My Camra To The Computer.

when i plug in the usb cord from comp to camera a box usually comes up asking me what i want to do. i choose import pics to pc and it does its thing. now instead of the usualy box i get a small box that says its syncronizing the camera and nothing else happens and i can not get my pic imported to my pc. what am i doing wrong
