Nordick Track E7.0z Eliptical Machine Does Not Work And Makes A Rapping Noise.

When I try to add resistance it either will not or there is a delay of about 15 seconds. Suddenly, no controls work. I plug it in, it makes 11 rapping sounds (I think magnetic) and then it tries to do something and there is a slight sound. The 11 sounds repeat, clear and sharp sounds. I also had a problem with it not doing the pulse reading. Page 30 of the user manual shows a reed adjustment for the console, which I do not think will resolve this issue. There ae also instructions for adjusting the drive belt, but I do not think it needs adjusting? I cannot get any information from them, not even a parts/price list. Someone told me that she would send an email with information on it but did not send it. I do not remember what I paid for this unit in 2016 and I guess I am trying to decide if it is cheaper to repair or just get a new eliptical. They want a minimum of $159.00 to look at the unit and a minimum of $65.00 when they return to repair it, plus parts. I really think this is a simple problem but like a treadmill there may be very expensive parts also, and I do have a budget. I am suspicious of the power supply unit
