How Do I Get Updates For My Nextar Q4-03 Gps

when I turn the gps on it says that updates are available to go to nextar.com did that and no help I would like to get these updates done

I phoned Nextar and they said the last update was done in 2009, that it is no longer available and that there would be no more updates.
