Smart Controller Not Staying Connected To Phone.

I've had the Smart Controller since new. Maybe 4 years now. This past week, it won't stay connected to my phone. It's showing that it's paired, but the red light flashes after connecting for less than 1 second. It'll keep doing the same thing if I turn it off and on. Could my controller have just reached the end of its life?
