Gps Wont Fire Up
hii have old magellan meridian hand held gps,it hasnt been used in a while.any way i tried to start it up and nothing happens.i put in new batteries nothing.i read that there is internal battery,if so can it be changed if that is problem.where is it located and how hard would be to change and is a battery availablethanks lloyd

Make sure the 2 AA batteries a fresh. Since it hasn't been used in awhile you may have corrosion or oxidation on the contacts.

Hi. The manual is somewhat silent concerning an internal battery, and if there is any, it should be a backup battery for settings and should not hinder the GPS' ability to power on if drained. I would say ensure you have the correct AA batteries as per page 14 (also see page 92) of the manual here https://www.helpowl.com/manuals/Magellan/Meridian/49822 - also, make sure the battery terminal on the GPS and clean (a pencil eraser can help). Also, while an uncommon mistake, a wrong polarity will cause this too.
