Streaming Video

I've just bought an msi U270dx and I'm having trouble with streaming videos. The videos are invariably glitchy, including youtube videos. I know it's my laptop and not the internet connection because I have tried the same videos using other laptops and they work perfectly. Is this simply a product of it being a notebook or are there some steps I can take to remedy this?
