The Screen Is All Black

I asked my fried to reformat my cr400 notebook. In the middle of his work brown out came and interrupted the process. when the power came back, he turned on the unit but only the power ligth is turning on but the screen is all black. please help me if there is still a possible way to repair it. thank you very much
