Lowrance Lst-3800 Keypad

Installed on a 2010 Sun Tracker, recently purchased. First time out noticed that the units display was erratic. When I pushed the menu pad, it did not respond. In fact neither did the up and down pads. Display sometime changes on its own or stays in the main page of the LST-3800. Did the unit go bad all of a sudden or is there can this be easily fixed?

If the unit will not respond as expected though installed and operated as per the User Manual here, then it must sadly be having a manufacturer fault - in which case you will be better off returning it to the retailer or contacting Lowrance directly..
