Using G500s Laptop--updating This Mo. To Windows 10 From 8.1

Will I lose desktop Icons, folders, shortcuts, all active-downloaded programs, pictures, music, important info.? Please advise....thank you.

Normally when upgrading an OS your personal data, installed apps, etc. aren't affected. If you need assurance I suggest you contact Microsoft or go here for more upgrade info.
