Toublershooting Question: Reading Disc Error!!

I have a Home theater System Model LHB306 that is giving me a read disc error. When disc is inserted the unit start to spin, then stop, then spin again then stop, then gives me a READ Disc error. Book said to use a cleaner disc, but the unit will not run long enough to do any good. What can I try?

The CD/DVD that you wish to play may not be compatible with the device. Based on the product specifications provided by Cnet.com, LG LHB306 accepts the following media format.
