Kitchen Aid Model Kgrs807, How Do I Remove Probe?

I've got a message on my range that appeared when I was heating soup on one burner. there was a beep sound and message read: ENTER PROBE TIME OR REMOVE PROBE I've never even used the probe. The alarm that beeps is becoming very annoying! Ugh... Thank you for your help! Julie
