Hi. If the phone will not let you do so in-spite trying to do so as per the device model's User Guide here, then you can:
1. Search for and install "App cache cleaner" from Play Store - and then use this to wipe all system cache and retry the tone settings and observe.
2. If the issue persist, then backup your apps and files and then factory reset the phone - then retry the setting prior to restoring the backup.
