Video Card Replacement.

I have an HP d4100y with an original NVIDIA GeForce 6200SE Turboache 256MB video/display card. I just replaced the monitor with a 27" Viewsonic LD Widescreen VA2702w that runs in its native 1920x1080p resolution and is connected to the card via a VGA cable because the card doesn't have a DVI connector. Problem is that the colors, images and text are washed out, blurred, etc. So, my guess is that I need to replace the card with one that has a DVI connector. I don't know if the computer motherboard video port connector is AGP or PCI Express or what. Please inform me as to which cards are best for this application and whatever else I need to do (like BIOS changes, etc.) in order to have the monitor display correctly and crisp. Thanks.
