Gateway Nv50a Black Screen No Hd Light
gateway nv50a stop working. I get a power light and nothing else. Have tried removing the battery and holding down the power switch. wont load back-up disc dead in the water.

Hi, if you get a power light when you turn the laptop on, both with the AC adapter plugged in and with it unplugged, you might have a problem with the motherboard. If the power light comes on with the adapter plugged in but it doesn't come on if the adapter isn't plugged in, then the problem could be either the motherboard or the adapter.
The motherboard is the most expensive option to replace, so a good rule of thumb is to get a new AC adapter/charger and see if the laptop powers up with that. If it still won't power on, there's a good chance you have a bad motherboard, in which case it might be cheaper to get a new laptop than have the motherboard repaired or replaced.
