Gateway Gt5678

At startup I get a black screen which has info about a Codell.fw but it goes by so fast that I can't get it all. What is this 'Codell.fw" and how do I get it? This computer was given to me and I have added a 1TB hard drive and now have Ubuntu Linux on it instead of Vista. I am at a loss. It mostly runs well, but I'm kind of new to Linux/Ubuntu. Also my DVD+R/W/Labelflash drive has never worked. Help, please.

Press keyboards pause on the boot up screen when you get to the text. You will need to look for a linux/ubuntu driver for the dvd drive.
