Bluetooth Serviceview Error

Bluetooth Serviceview starts to search for the Bluetooth device services and stops with an errorand then terminates. This happens with both devices a headset and a telephone. These two devices work fine together. I downloaded the latest Bluetooth drivers from Dell and then attempted to uninstall the old drivers. Alas this also aborts part way through with an error message telling me to contact admin support. However the drivers are still installed and still identify Bluetooth devices. Under Bluetooth device properties there are 4 out of 5 services selected so services can be located. This is the first time that I have tried to use Bluetooth on this Dell. All my other Bluetooth devices including a Mac Mini work with each other and only this Dell doesn't. Any ideas of how to fix this will be much appreciated.

Try pairing another Bluetooth item (cell phone) to it.If you get the error "Bluetooth adapter is disconnected or not turned on" then the Bluetooth cable has become disconnected from the MOBO,or not connected at all.Is your Bluetooth light on,if not then this will also verify that. The Bluetooth module will still show as enabled in BIOS even if it has become disconnected from MOBO.

Next open the Bluetooth compartment and make sure the BT module is connected, this would be the easiest and first place i would check before going to the MOBO to reconnect.

You can try just simply reseatting the BT module.

The BT compartment is right next to the battery bay,you will see a 1" x 1 cm stirp with one screw to undue. This will not void warranty unless you damage something in the proccess which ive never seen from replacing this. But check and see if in fact the BT module is in there and just try to reseat it,(take it out and reconnect it) carefull on pulling the card away from the cable, hold the BT module and pull it from the white connector.

Next click start>control panel>programs and features> single click "WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software" then click uninstall at the top>DO NOT restart laptop.Go to the driver and download page and re-install the driver then restart.
