Compression On The Dell Tl2000 Tape Library

Auxiliary backups to one of the above devices do not appear to be compressing. I am getting just short of 800GB on an LTO4 tape whereas I should be getting towards 1.6TB. The question is is compression configurable or is it on by default? If it is on by default and not configurable, would the fact that software compression and deduplication have been applied to the disk backup be preventing the drive compressing it further?

Hello,

It could be possible to get a VD (Virtual disk) to be seen by the IBM N6040but it is not support to run in that configuration. Typically you present the VD to a host so getting the IBM to see it will be a challenges.
