Dell E156fpb Monitor Powers Up But Goes Blank After A Couple Seconds
My Dell E156FPb monitor powers up but goes blank after a couple seconds. The green power light stays on, but the self-test screen disappears.

The power supply has some bad capacitors which are shorting out and causing the monitor to "power down". You need to open up and replace the electrolytic caps inside.. It's a common problem caused by monitor age and the caps drying out inside.. I repair these by the dozen here at my shop. Just replace all hte caps on the board because they are probably all the same age and have been in the same heated environment and so all drying out about the same level. The caps look like a "barrel" on the circuit board.
