Web Surfing Speeds Not Significantly Improved.
I see no appreciable increase in internet surfing speed after installing drivers and connecting thru my NETGEAR N150 router, (OS is Windows 7). I performed speed test three ways:1. NETGEAR alone; 2. NETGEAR and DWA-162 plugged to available USB port, and 3.NETGEAR and DWA-162 disconnected from USB port (wireless?).Results: DLS: 1 16.66 Mbps; 2 17.12 Mbps; 3. 15.87 MbpsULS: 1 1.25 Mbps: 2. 1.07 Mbps, 3. 1.12Q: Have I not installed the adapter hardware and/or driver software correctly or were my expectations for "lightning " fast web surfing as promised in the WORLDSTART ads too high? Would appreciate any advise you may have. Regards, AL

You might see an upgrade in speed on your home network but not on the internet. Your internet speeds are much slower than the speed of the router. Wireless N is 600Mbps at its fastest but the average internet speed is around 20-30Mbps. Transferring files between devices on your home network will be faster but the internet speed won't be affected. You could purchase an old 54Mbps Wireless G router and your internet speed would still be the same because you internet service is slower than that.
