Won't Power Up
I purchased a used Brother Ptouch 1280 from ebay. The seller said that it worked 8 months ago but then stored in his garage. He stated that he didn't have the power cord to test it with but came with 6 batteries in it. I have an identical unit that I bought new and even with the power cord from that unit attached, it still doesn't power up. I put in a new brother tape cartridge. Any suggestions on why it won't turn on?

Not knowing the garage environment I can only speculate that the electronic component & contacts have oxidized to the point of failure. If you can't return it & feel comfortable going into the unit & use a electronics cleaner sparingly to see if it will re-energize.
