How To Setup Scan To Vmware Machine?

I have a customer that is using a MacBook Pro with 10.10.5 Yosemite OS and am currently unable to setup scans to his computer. He has a VMware with windows 7 on it yet that is also unable to connect. the MacBook carries two different IP's and user name and password are entered correctly. How would I set this up using just the Mac OS for scan to SMB?

Hi. You must have forgotten to mention the brand of the printer/scanner you are working on with the MacBook. Having said that, the best I can do is to recommend to you the thread here http://www.copytechnet.com/forums/ricoh-savin-gestetner-lanier/96688-scanning-mac-os-10-9-mavericks-10-10-yosemite.html :)
