Depress the shutter release button halfway, making sure the green autofocus indicator in the viewfinder lights and the autofocus beep is heard (p. 23). Load the film (p. 18). Insert the batteries. And close the cover. When replacing the batteries, make sure to turn the lock screw to turn the power switch OFF before unloading the batteries. Read "Battery Handling" on page 58. Use your finger or a coin to OPEN. Place your fingernail 14 when opening the battery cover. And open the battery cover. Take care not to CLOSE. Align the (+) and (-) directions of the batteries correctly as shown. Turn the lock screw to injure your fingertip in the notch. LOADING THE BATTERIES Use two 3V lithium batteries (DL123A or CR123A).
Insert the batteries. And close the cover. When replacing the batteries, make sure to turn the lock screw to turn the power switch OFF before unloading the batteries. DANGER: DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN DIRECTLY THROUGH THE VIEWFINDER. 21 TAKING PICTURES Follow this procedure for approx. 30 seconds, the LCD panel goes out and will come on again when the operation is resumed. When the power switch is turned ON, the camera is in the Full-Auto mode. (See p. 40.) Turn the power switch ON. While the lens moves forward, the lens cap opens, and the LCD panel lights.
