The backup battery feature is a drawback.
The unit itself seems to be high quality. I would not have any problems with it if it didn't come with the back up battery.Initially, I didn't put the battery since I can't even recally when was the last power outage in my area. In addition, opening it manually is really not a big deal. Then, power was out. When power was restored, the garage door opener no longer works. It appears, the circuit board got fried. Repairman replaced it and suggested I put in the back up battery. I can't recally the number of times I have to reset the unit from all sorts of issues. Even if there is power, the orange LED will blink indicating the back up battery is now the source of power. RESET.
Then every so often, the unit stops communicating with the remote.
RESET.
The lock feature locks itself. RESET.
Today, the battery drain (as if it has no battery) then back at square one, circuit board is fried again. REFRIED.
Time to REPLACE
