My Subwoofer Is Silent
I have read the manual. Subwoofer is set to use. When I tried to add extra base the option did not come up. I bought a new audio cable and turned off Auto on the subwoofer. It is a Boston subwoofer and I quess it has a preamp. the 4065 is good otherwise.

Hi, the receiver will only allow you to select extra bass if you have your loudspeakers set to large, if they are set to small this option is blanked out and not accessible. If they are set to small in the speakers/configuration menu then your sub should come to life. Make sure that the sub is in the sub pre-out and not the sub in which is part of the multichannel input as this is a common mistake.
To test that the sub works fine I would remove the cable from the receiver but leave it plugged into the sub, touch the centre pin of the RCA cable and you should get a humm every time you make contact with the pin, if this happens then the sub is fine. Do this 4-5 times as if you have the auto on feature enabled on your sub it may take a few attempts to wake up.
