Picture Fades To White, Then Back To Color.

I have a 5 year old vizio tv that has never given me any trouble. Just yesterday, the picture slowly faded out, there was still and image, but it was mostly white. Then, it returned to full color slowly. Does anyone have an idea what might cause this to happen?

It sounds like it could be a power supply issue, but it could be many things really including failed capacitors on a video processing board in the TV too.
