Blinking Light On Uniden 6.0 Dect Cordless Handset

I have 4 handsets.  I use the cable company's answering system with no problem for over a year.  Suddenly when the power went out, it reverts to the base answering system.  Since we live in area with numberous power outages, it is constantly reverting back and I am constantly retruning the system "off".  How do I get rid of this?
