Changing Resolution Without Remote

We recently changed cable companies. We now have Directv. I can barely see any of the words that come up in info, etc. I have spoken with Directv and everything they told me to do did not change anything. They told me that I needed to change the resoultion on my tv itself. Unfortunately, I cannot locate my Television remote! I was wondering if u could tell me how to do it without the remote, possibly thru the menu feature of the TV? Or if U have a different way of getting the job done...I have to walk up to the TV to be able to see what it says and I have 20/20 vision! ha! Please help!

The guy you talked to obviously didn't know what he was talking about. You cannot change the resolution of a TV. It's fixed at one resolution and cannot be changed. A lot of TVs have a zoom function but I don't think you'd want to use that as it will cut off part of the picture. It sounds like it's an issue with the DirecTV receiver. If you can't figure it out it might be best to have a DirecTV technician come to your house and look at it.
