Sony Bravia Kdl32m3000 Problem
my sony bravia, kdl32m3000, is only a few years old. the screen went black, no sound. the power is on, but can't see or hear anything. i tried using the buttons on the top of the tv and nothing???? i have unplugged it for hours and still nothing.
any suggestions?

There is two possible scenarios, it depends on it the problem is just there is no back lights and the unit is really working but since you cannot see the picture you have it on an unused input so you don't hear any audio. If this is the case then you will be able to turn the set off and on like normal, and if you put this set into a very dark room and with a very bright flashlight pointed against the screen, turn the set on and look for evidence of the picture (press [menu] to make sure that there is going to be something on the screen). If this is your problem, then you should change the inverter board (part number 1-789-907-21) in stock here for $65.70 after $50 core has been returned: http://www.andrewselectronics.com/welcome.aspx
second scenario is the set turns on, but won't turn off normally. This sounds like the BM board is bad. this is the main board and it's in stock at the same place listed above, part number A-1376-788-A list price $301.58 after $400 core.
