It took me one minute to break the camera (sony camcorder, dcr sr35) and a few good hours to fix it. same error appeared (i have no clue why, might have done something) and would not let me take videos or copy them to my computer (win7). I was un able to view the files on the camera (gave me HDD format error), or open it in Windows Explorer). Read that the only way to get rid of the error was to formnat the disc but i didnot want to lose the videos!     I tried paragon backup and recovery but somehow it was not reading the removable disc. Tried photorec and testdisk but couldnt make any progress with it either. Finally came across recuva (http://www.piriform.com/products), the file recovery bit and moved forward. The default option allowed me to recover deleted files. Just needed to switch to recover non-deleted files (damaged and formatted files) It is now at 98%, took 25 minutes, and I can already see the videos on my computer! I thought i lost the videos forever but have them now back thanks to recuva. It was so easy and painless! I still need to resolve the error but I am hoping formatting the media will sort it out. :)
