Various things. Firstly check how much space you have left on your hard drive or SSD. Then check whether you can defragment your hard drive. Do not defrag an SSD as that will shorten its life and is unnecessary. Run a system check and if that does not improve things then see if you can increase the ram. There are free utilities available on the net. Do a search for "free system utilities" and check them out. They would find problems that you would be unable to find easily
