Activating Mhl On Samsung S24b750 Monitor With Galaxy 4- Doesn't Work !

I just bought 2 new products- A GALAXY 4 and a Samsung S24B750 Monitor- I know there is a function which is supposed to AUTOMATICALLY connect the phone to the screen -yet this doesn't work- It keeps saying the device is not connected ? Can you PLEASE HELP!
