Having Trouble Down Loading Pictures Onto My Dell Latitude D620

I am having trouble downloading pictures off my samsung PL120/PL121 an onto my laptop. I have inscerted CD-Rom, yet the laptop does.t recognise the Camera. Laptop is 7 years old andhas windows XP.
