How Do I Identify The Dmd Board In A Samsung Hls6187wx/xxa

I have a spare model exact match. Need to know how complex to swap DMD boards. I have electrical experience with circuit board replacement but never on a TV. Is it possible or do I need a tech ?. Thanks...

The DMD board is the one encased in the metal shield with the fan in front of it on the optical engine. Mark the direction of the cooling fan before removing. The engine pulls out easily with four wire harnesses removed. The replacement isn't too hard, just time consuming, but the installation will take some finesse. you will need to focus and align it to your screen.

Are you needing a new DMD board or the DLP chip? they are separate parts (the chip is behind the board, pull the board to get to it). And one more thing, you should make sure that these two models are the same version. There is a tag on the right hand side with this information. Also look at the optical engine and ensure the lamp is angled into the engine the same. One engine has the lamp at 90 degrees, and the other is not.
