Sc542 Service Code
We had a power outage and now my printer displays: Service Call SC542 Please call serviceIs there anything I can do? I have tried turning it off and also unplugging it.

Hi, if this code appeared right after a power outage, there is probably nothing physically wrong with the printer. However, that code is a fuser code, and unfortunately fuser codes can't be reset simply by rebooting the device. The fuser is the component that heats up to fuse the toner to the paper, and if the fuser gets too hot it could cause serious problems, so with fuser codes the machine needs to be reset by a Ricoh technician by going into the machine's service mode and clearing the code.
Once your Ricoh technician resets the 542 code, the printer should work normally.
