Sound Gets Disabled When Plantronics Audio 628 Is Plugged
laptop: Asus G53S System: window 7
The plantronics headset works fine on my other laptop, a Toshiba under XP.
ANother headset (logitech) works fine on the Asus.
But as soon as i plugged in the Plantronic 628usb to the Asus, sound gets disabled.
I have downloaded the last version of Spokes, updated drivers
WHen i plugged in the plantronics a problem is detected and i get a popup window saying the device works fine but sound got disabled.
How can i fix this?

For whatever reason, your laptop is not recognizing the headset. You can manually change the settings on your laptop in XP.
1. Pull up Control Panel
2. Select Sounds & Audio Devices
3.Select the Audio Tab: In the drop-down window under Default Device select your headset
4.Select Voice Tab: In the drop-down window under Default Device select your headset
5. On the same page select Test Hardware for sound
Now your laptop should recognize your headset.
