Pioneer Vsx-82txs

Hello there, I have a Pioneer VSX-82TXS that had shorted outputs in front ch. I ordered service manual(hard copy) from Pioneer ($82.06) that was DSP oriented only, I thought I was getting the entire manual for that price. The entire service manual was $135.00. After explaining my situation to Pioneer, they sent me a few pages of the amp section also. The unit stays in protect state and I have no info on power supply voltages. The HDMI light continues to blink ( I assume it's in protect state at this point) trying to avoid spending anymore on manuals. I would gladly send you this half of the manual by copping to pdf format if you have the rest of the manual. I am a warr service center for several manuf for 36yrs, but not for Pioneer. Tom

The reset did the trick, THANKYOU !

Your a real asset to this forum.

It seems I had it fixed all along aftet replacing outputs and drivers with a few resistors.

I ordered the full service manual, Pioneer was kind enough to give me credit for the DSP section I purchased and applied it toward the full service manual (hard copy).

I will post it when it comes in.

you're welcome, i serviced a lot of brand too pioneer, marantz,denon,harman/kardon all of theses system have a lock mode now when detect an abnormality.

vsx82 refer to vsx74 for complete manual

if your amp is in lock mode try this: RELEASE MODE

Press and hold "ADVANCED SURROUND" and "ENTER" keys
on the front panel simultaneously for 5 seconds in standby mode to return to normal state

to check in diagnostic mode for error

Detected protection history

[How to enter/exit]
During Standby mode, simultaneously press and hold the ADVANCED SURROUND and "↑" (TUNE +) keys for
5 seconds to enter this mode.

AMP ERROR : After a failure in the amplifier block or high DC output is detected, the shutdown process starts, then
the power will be shut off. Then the MCACC LED will flash. The power cannot be turned on again.
If you wish to turn on the unit after a shutdown activated by DC detection, enter Test mode, by
proceeding with the steps described in "How to enter release mode" below.
