Issue With Nec Np-60 Projector
There is a red light flashing where the status light is and a constant orange light on where the power status is. The projector turns on but shuts right down. I replaced the bulb and its still doing the same. Any ideas???

There is a lamp door that has to be in place to allow this unit to power on. The reason is there is an interlock switch that has to be closed, telling the microprocessor that you are safe from the heat these lamps emit. On the door is a piece of plastic that pushes on the actuator on this switch. If this piece of plastic is damaged then it thinks this door is not in place.
The symptom is the power indicator is orange and the status blinks red once every 3 seconds. The other thing that can cause this is the plug "POLB" is disconnected. I have never seen this unless someone has been inside the unit and failed to reconnect it.
If the plastic tab is not damaged on the lamp door, and the door is properly installed and the problem is still there, then probably the switch is damaged. These switches are small and fragile. I have soldered the contacts together, essentially telling the microprocessor that the door is always in place.
