A hard reset MAY (but is not guaranteed to) resolve this problem. To do a hard reset, unplug the unit, then hold the power button on the main unit down for 30 seconds. Plug back in and see if the problem is resolved. If not, mail-in repair will be $69 plus parts and shipping. New DVD/VCR units start at $90 elsewhere.

If the item still has a use for you then to save the planet from more rubbish going into the ground etc. iI should be repaired, but it is your own personal choice. Is the item current tech or obselete ? Can you repair it as you have to consider the cost of the repair? What will it cost for new item for the same job? These are choices for you.
