My Monitor Blue Light Comes On, But Flashes With No Screen

A flat-panel monitor uses a light source behind its screen to illuminate the elements that make up its display panel. If this light source burns out or proves defective, the monitor can't function properly and displays an error code in the form of LED signal-light blinks.

Contaced Insignia support who was very helpfull. I followed their procedure to troubleshoot what the problem was. They had me turn tv off and unplug it from wall. Then i pressed power button tv for 20 seconds and then plug it in a different outlet and see if problem persisted. It did. I was then told that light pattern indicated a power supply problem that was either caused by bad power being delivered to device or an internal problem with power supply inside the tv. It was recommended i return unit and get a replacement from Bestbuy.

I returned unit and obtained a replacement. When i got home I followed the setup for tv and no more blinking light. New tv works great. Old one worked great too but had that annoying blinking blue light every 2 seconds with two rapid blinks. So anyone out their with same issue follow above procedure to test for power supply problem. If it persists call Insignia to check this too. I talked to a tech that indicated this was what the problem was. They said take tv back and get a new one. That does not mean i am correct or they are. Always check with manufacturer even if you are sure what you are reading on the internet seems reasonable.
