Laptop Screen Size Shrunk

I installed SX service pack 3 on my hp pavilion n5495 and now the screen has shrunk. i can make it large by pressing alt-f5. but it will not stay full screen. I've already changed its screen resolution to highest. I also note that in the display area for settings, it doesn't have multiple monitors selection. What else
