My Computer Is A Mac Iosx Could This Be The Problem With Installation?
Do I need a special Fax cord to go to the telephone?

Yes. This might be the problem with the installation. The driver software that you are trying to install may not be compatible with your Operating System. The compatible driver software for HP Officejet 4610 which can run with Mac OS X is available for download online. Here's the link to the download page.
