Hello aviroff,

I am from Dell Social Media and Community.

The OptiPlex GX280 supports up to 4GB of memory in two channels. This memory is either 400MHz or 533MHz DDR2 memory.

You can log on to www.dell.com or contact the sales team for region to place an order for the memory modules.

Follow the link below to find the steps to run a basic hardware test. If you receive any error code, please associate it to the list given to confirm any hardware failure.

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&docid=266787#Issue1

If all the tests pass, follow the link below to fix Operating system/blue screen issue.

http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kcs/document?c=us&l=en&s=gen&docid=DSN_173237&isLegacy=true

Let me know if you need any further assistance. I will be glad to help.
