R16-500 Shows 14 Percent Dvr Space Available But Runs Out Of Space.
i have a R16-500 DVR Receiver. It shows 14% space available, but I keep getting out of space messages with 14% still showing. Did a reset...no effect. Anyone have thoughts, please?

This is apparently a flaw with DirecTV receivers. In my case (I had somewhat more free space than you) some programs set to record just didn't. DirecTV convinced me to replace my receiver, with the concomitant loss, of course, of all my recordings. My suggestion is that you increase your free space--to perhaps 30%. This won't solve your problem, of course, but it may prevent more serious problems.
