Canon Pima Mx310 - How Can I Scan To Pdf In Windows 7?

I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. I used to have no problem scanning to PDF on my Pixma MX310. Now the only save options I seem to have are picture type files such as TIF, JPEG, etc. even in document mode. These files are too large to email and this wrinkle has eliminated the usefulness of this machine. How can I get it to produce PDF format scans?

Go to page 28 of this manual for scanning info. You will notice the reference to MP Nav EX software, if you don't have it installed you can DL it here.
