Charging The Ipod Nano

When I plug my IPod Nano into my computer, it doesn't always say "Charging".  Sometimes it just says "Do Not Disconnect."  Is it charging when it says that or not??

When it is connected into a power source it is always charging but that message is shown because it syncs with itunes;)
